FAQ

  • What is an adjustment?

Adjustments - also known as spinal manipulation - is a high velocity low amplitude thrust applied to a joint in order to restore full motion. Adjustments are most commonly preformed on the spine but can also be used on other joints (wrist, elbow, ankle, etc). Adjustments are generally safe, pain-free and can be an effective tool for pain-relief.

  • What is the popping sound I hear during an adjustment?

The cracking or popping sensation you may feel or hear during an adjustment is not your bones as some people may think. It is actually a gas bubble releasing from your joint as we increase the range of motion. It is similar to the pop you hear when you crack your knuckles.

  • I don't want adjustments - can I still visit a Chiropractor?

Yes! Adjustments are just one of the many things we can provide during treatment. There are many other treatment options if adjustments are not for you. Don’t let your fear of adjustments stop you from visiting a chiropractor; express your concerns and we will only provide treatment you consent to.

  • Can you turn my breech baby?

As Chiropractors, we treat the mother NOT the baby. The purpose of the Webster technique is to optimize the position of the pelvis by limiting joint restriction and/or ligament and muscle tension. Optimal function of the pelvis and nervous system allows for the baby to have a supportive environment and MAY help the baby assume the best possible position for birth.

  • Can Chiropractic treatment help my headaches?

Maybe! There are many different types of headaches, some caused by the neck and muscular tension. Research has shown that Chiropractic care can be an effective treatment for Tension and Cervicogenic headaches. Visit a Chiropractor to find out what type of headaches you are experiencing and if Chiropractic care could help you manage them.
